Ultimate Nevis Guide
We just got back from four incredible nights in Nevis, and I already want to go back. Even my boyfriend—who usually isn’t a big traveler—keeps saying how much he loved it. That should tell you something! If you’re looking for a tropical escape with a mix of relaxation, adventure, and luxury, Nevis is an absolute gem.
Here’s everything you need to know to plan the perfect trip.
Hotels
Four Seasons: This is where we stayed, and it was fantastic. The resort has everything: three pools (including one for adults only), multiple dining options, a serene spa, and tons of activities. Our Ocean View room had the most stunning sunset views, and I’d definitely recommend booking that category if you love a good panoramic moment. If you prefer direct beach access, opt for an ocean-side room—but just note you’ll trade off those sweeping views. Between the service, the property, and all the things to do, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
Paradise Beach: We spotted this resort from the water and were immediately obsessed with how stunning it looked. It’s a boutique resort with just 13 luxurious villas and beach houses, all with private plunge pools or full-sized pools. It’s only a few minutes from the Four Seasons, so if you’re looking for a more private yet still ultra-luxe experience, this could be perfect.
(Coming Soon) Nisbet Plantation Beach Club: This historic property is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to be next-level gorgeous once it reopens. It’ll be right on the beach, and we’re already planning to stay here when it’s ready. I’ll update this guide as soon as we check it out!
For those looking to stay over in St. Kitts, Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort and the Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour are both excellent options.
✨ Pro tip: When you book with me, you’ll get VIP perks and exclusive benefits at all these properties—at no extra cost.
Restaurants
Drift: Our absolute favorite restaurant on the island. It’s a casual beach shack-style spot right on the water, and the vibe is perfect. Get there about 30 minutes before sunset to soak in the views. We loved the spiny lobster tail and the fresh catch of the day, and their famous lobster sandwich (on the lunch menu) is a must. Everyone working here was incredibly warm and welcoming. Plus, they have an adorable restaurant dog named Drifter. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll love him. If not, they’ll keep him away—so either way, you’re covered.
The Rocks: Set up in the mountains, this restaurant is absolutely stunning and super romantic. If you go, try to arrive before sunset so you can enjoy the views. One tip: the path leading to the restaurant is slightly hilly, so maybe skip the sky-high heels.
Bananas: A dreamy, jungle treehouse-style restaurant that feels like a hidden gem. Start with drinks on the rooftop before sunset for the full experience. The night we went, there was live acoustic music, and the guitarist even took song requests. This spot would be perfect for an intimate proposal, just saying.
Sunshine's Beach Bar & Grill: Just a short walk from the Four Seasons, this laid-back Rastafarian beach bar is famous for its Killer Bee cocktail—but be warned, it’s strong! Take it slow. We went for lunch and loved the casual, lively atmosphere. They also have TVs playing various sports games, making it a great spot to catch a match if you’re a fan.
Restaurants At the Four Seasons:
EsQuilina: Complimentary breakfast when you book with us! We loved starting our mornings here on the porch with fresh fruit and omelets.
On the Dune: Perfect for a relaxed lunch. The fish tacos and fish sandwich were our favorites.
Crowned Monkey Rum Bar: A cozy nightcap spot with sports games on TV.
Room Service at the Spa: One of our favorite experiences—ordering lunch to enjoy at the spa’s cold plunge pool with views of Nevis Peak. Highly recommend!
✨ Other recommendations from locals: Lunas (a great dinner spot) and Limes (a nice lunch spot near Sunshine’s).
Things to Do
Nevis is a volcanic island, so you won’t find soft white sand beaches or extensive coral reefs like some other Caribbean destinations—but there’s still plenty to do.
Snorkeling with Islander Watersports – We booked a private snorkeling trip through the Four Seasons, and it was fantastic. Our guide took us to a shipwreck off St. Kitts, and the experience was so fun. Just don’t forget to bring towels (like I did!).
Beach Activities at the Four Seasons – You can kayak, paddleboard, sail a Hobie Cat, or even go tubing. Yes, tubing as an adult is just as fun as you remember! We loved getting a mini tour of the island while bouncing over the waves.
Travel Info
Flying In & Out – We flew direct to St. Kitts (SKB) from JFK on American Airlines, then connected via Miami on the way home. Lots of visitors take the same route.
Immigration & Customs – Before your flight, fill out the Online Immigration and Customs ED Form. We didn’t, and it meant waiting in a long customs line upon arrival. Learn from my mistake!
Getting to Nevis – The Four Seasons arranged everything for us. A driver met us at the airport, took our luggage, and shuttled us to a boat for the quick ride over to Nevis. Arriving at the resort was seamless—greeted with cold towels and a personal escort to our room.
